We took an exciting and beautiful Land Rover Safari Tour to see the grounds of Blair Castle up closely and personally! Our wonderful ghillie picked us up at our hotel and ventured back to the castle and the grounds. Following are some of the pictures taken from the Land Rover, as well as a few others.
We started out by visiting a band of tame deer next to the castle. I also threw in a picture of one of the stone walls on the estate.

Below, if you look closely on the top right, you can see a line of deer staring at us from the top of the hill. The hunters and ghillies and visitors to the lands (45,000 acres) never shoot from a Land Rover so that the animals are not spooked by the sight and sound of these vehicles. We were up high on the top left and it was getting colder. That view! That sky!

The River Tilt runs through this area of Perthshire, Scotland. Such natural beauty. On the upper left is an old bridge that had crumbled. Our ghillie remembered the bridge from his youth when it was still a bridge. He has lived on this land for more than 60 years and knows it well.

The sheep were very skittish, but these horses were quite friendly (well, they might have been a little hungry since they were done with us when they realized we had no food).

On the bottom left is an abandoned bothy. Funny, the name of the pub at the hotel was the Bothy Bar. On the bottom right, we could see the remnants of a glacier.

Hi Denise – stunning photos … showing us life up there. What a great trip to have taken … and to see so much. Great to see a bothy in the landscape, as too the hotel bar … and your special photos – can see why you love them … thanks for letting us see these – great memories for you – cheers Hilary
Thanks, Hilary. That land was so beautiful to behold. I still cannot believe I was there. More to come!
