The Hall of State had an exhibit about a political cartoonist named John Knott:
One of Knott’s regular characters was “Old Man Texas.”
The Hall of State also had an amazing World War I exhibit and Texas’ and the country’s roles in the war.
Some shots from the Midway:
Kids ate up and down the Midway and then rode this . . .
From the Texas Tower:
Tower of Texas underbelly–
Let sleeping pigs lie . . . lol. I know many pigs that lie!
The baby burros sure were cute!
Llama snarl?
A huge porcupine at a petting zoo? Hmmm.
And finally, got the requisite Big Tex shot. Poor fella is still out of proportion.

Hi Denise – looks like lots of fun … and I loved the shots – particularly those by John Knott – talented artist and cartoonist … cheers Hilary
There was a whole room full of his cartoons, Hilary, on a wide variety of subjects. Cheers to you!
These photos are fabulous, Denise!
Thanks, Martha!
