–My great aunt, Marie (blond), and a friend
–Marie and her sister, Anna Jo, who was killed in a car wreck probably shortly after this picture was taken (and later colorized) in the late 1930s.
Marie led an interesting life, but her legacy is the students she taught to read and write as a second grade teacher for many years. She dated Dallas District Attorney Henry Wade who grew up near where she did. Their relationship didn’t last. She was married for a long time to a man named James and had one son named Richard.
