Anyway, I was walking back to my car when I saw a new little Italian place down from the defunct salad place. Before I got there, however, a nice lady gave me a coupon for the burger joint next door. I decided to check it out. This place is called
Topz and it is actually part of a chain based in California. The burgers here seem to be healthier than what you would get at any fast food restaurant or places like Mooyah. They have a nice menu that includes beef and turkey burgers, chicken sandwiches, and turkey dogs. The fries, both sweet potato and what they call “Aero” fries (because they are not fried in oil, but air-baked) are delicious. If you don’t want to eat a bun, they will make your burger in a bowl like a salad.I had gone there last Friday and went back already today. The best thing about Topz is that the people who run the place are extremely nice and will do anything to make your visit pleasant. They were so busy I did not get a chance to chat with them today, but they did remember me from the last visit. I will definitely go back next time I am craving a burger. If you are in the Addison area near Belt Line and the Dallas North Tollway, check out Topz Healthier Burger Grill at 5000 Belt Line Rd. (next to
Freebirds). Click here to see a mini-review in D Magazine.
